A taste of what to expect…
Day 1-2: Kunming Arrival + Luoping Rapeseed Flowers
Arrival in Kungming followed by a welcoming dinner at 6 pm, during which the tour leader will provide details about the trip.
The next morning, we will depart for Luoping to capture photographs of the yellow rapeseed flowers and surrounding waterfalls.
Shoot the sunset over 'Golden Chicken Peak' rapeseed flower fields.
Stay overnight in Luoping.
Day 3: Rapeseed Flowers Sunrise + Sunset in Yuanyang
We will shoot the sunrise over the 'Golden Chicken Peak' rapeseed flower fields.
Following breakfast, we will drive for approximately four hours to reach the Yuanyang Rice Terraces. Here, we will photograph the sunset at the Bada rice terraces.
Stay overnight in Yuanyang.
Day 4: Yuanyang Rice Terraces Sunrise + Sunset
The following morning, we will start early to travel to the Duoyishu Rice Terrace, which is the best sunrise location in Yuanyang. We will capture the sunrise over the golden terraced fields and witness colorful clouds, sea of clouds, and mist surrounding the village, making it an ideal location for photography.
After the sunrise, we will visit Aichun Village, where the terraced fields will display a beautiful crystal jewel blue under the sunshine. Here we will photograph the rice terraces in various angles and capture the working minority people in the fields.
In the late afternoon, we will photograph the sunset over the Tiger Mouth Terraced Fields, the largest rice terraces in this area.
Overnight stay will be in the village.
Day 5: Sunrise + Jianshui Ancient Town
Capture the sunrise over Jingkou Terraced Fields in the early morning, followed by a stroll through the Hani minority village to photograph the mushroom room, millstone, waterwheel, village path, and Hani tribe village.
Head to Jianshui ancient town in the afternoon. Visit the famous 'Zhu's Family Garden', a group of large-scale Qing Dynasty residential buildings known as the "Grand View Garden of Southwest of China".
Stay overnight in Jianshui.
Day 6: Sunrise + Dongchuan Red Land
The following day, photograph the sunrise at the picturesque Shuanglong (Twin Dragon) Bridge, named one of the most beautiful photography spots by China National Geographic.
At noon, drive to Dongchuan Redland, considered to be the most imposing red land in the world. Capture the stunning lines of Yuepuao and the sunset at Waliang House.
Stay overnight in Dongchuan.
Day 7: Sunrise + Yuanmou Soil Forest
Begin with sunrise photography at Damakan village before heading to Yuanmou Soil Forest. The magnificent soil-like deposits shaped into columnar terrain resembling a forest make for a spectacular sight. Photograph the magnificent forests before sunset and enjoy the "eternal and changing landscape".
Stay in Yuanmou and shoot the Milky Way at night if visible.
Day 8: Soil Forest + Kunming Departure
On the final day, enjoy the stunning morning scenery of the soil forest. Capture the light and shadow when the first sun shines on the village, around 7:30 am. Finally, drive back to Kungming and departure for home.
