The itinerary has been crafted by a photography specialist to inspire your next escape. You have the flexibility to personalize it according to your preferences and style, allowing you to capture the scenery and locals on your own conditions and departing at your convenience.
Photo Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Guilin Arrival & Sunset Session
Upon your arrival at Guilin, you will be greeted at the airport or train station and transported directly to Yangshuo.
Later in the day, we will drive for an hour to a mountain location, where you will have an opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the sunset over the traditional karst mountains and rivers from an elevated perspective.
Stay overnight in Yangshuo.
Day 2: Xianggong Hill + Cormorant Fisherman At Sunset
Will begin with an early start as you head to Xianggong Hill at 4am to capture the stunning sunrise and Li River bend through photography.
You will then drive to Fuli ancient stone bridge to take photos of the bridge and its reflection in the river.
Before returning to the hotel, you will visit a local market and experience how locals buy and sell village items.
After a short break at the hotel, you will head to Xingping ancient town in the afternoon to capture photos of the cormorant fisherman and the beautiful sunset on the Li River.
You will spend the night in Yangshuo.
Day 3: Cormorant Fishermen At Sunrise + Landscape Sunset
You will start early again and head to a secret location by the Li River to take breathtaking photos of the mountain reflections with two cormorant fisherman.
You will then drive to Daxu ancient town to take family and local portraits in an old wooden house.
In the afternoon, you will head to a mountain top to capture the amazing sunset and classic karst mountain peaks and village rivers.
Stay overnight in Yangshuo.
Day 4: Buffalo Farmer & Longji Rice Terraces
Begin with a trip to the countryside to capture photos of the buffalo farmer on an ancient stone bridge in a village and spectacular mountains in the distance.
You will then head to Longji rice terraces - Dazhai village and visit a local minority family to capture photos of the Long hair Yao minority women and old man in their old wooden house.
Afterward, you will capture photos of the amazing rice terraces from different viewpoints.
Drive to Ping An village in the late afternoon and spend the night there.
Day 5: Longji Rice Terraces + Sanjiang Dong Minority Village
Capture the sunrise over rice terraces and a minority village in a spot just a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. You can also capture the mist surrounding the village if it rained the day before.
After breakfast, you will explore the village and then head to Sanjiang Dong minority tribe in the late afternoon.
The minority Dong village provides many opportunities for people and portrait photography, minority bridges, and architecture.
You will spend the night in Sanjiang.
Day 6: Sanjiang + Zhaoxing Dong Minority Tribe
Will begin with a minority show in the morning.
You will then walk around the village to capture free photography of the local minority people.
In the afternoon, you will drive to Zhaoxing Dong Village, one of the most beautiful minority villages in Guizhou, to capture photos of the Dong minority architecture.
You will also capture the night life of Dong village and spend the night there.
Day 7: Zhaoxing + Guilin Departure
After breakfast, you will walk around the village and experience the Miao people's life.
This beautiful small village will provide an opportunity to capture the minority people and their working scenes.
You will be driving back to Guilin in the afternoon and departing for your next escape.
Trip Notes
1. Camera and lens suggestions

My recommendation to customers is to carry two cameras while photographing, as it saves time in changing lenses, especially during sunrise and sunset when the scenery changes rapidly. This ensures that you don't miss any beautiful moments.

For landscape photography, it's best to bring a wide-angle and zoom lens, such as 24-70mm and 70-200mm.

Additionally, a tripod is essential in low-light conditions, such as at dawn and dusk.
2. Drone photography
Drone photography in Yangshuo and Longji rice terraces is a must-try experience as the stunning mountain views are best captured from above. A drone can capture breathtaking aerial shots that are otherwise impossible to reach.
Moreover, there are no special restrictions for drone flying in Guilin and Guizhou area listed in the itinerary.
